JOB TRAINING & CAREER DEVELOPMENT
The New York Crusaders places a strong focus on job and career development for its participants. A majority of the individuals that we serve are either unemployed or underemployed, leaving a big gap in their financial lives to provide for basic necessities such as food and shelter. To help combat this issue, the Crusaders expanded its mission and programs to focus on direct job readiness with preparation in three fields;
Personal Training Bringing in experienced trainers, attendees will learn the basics of working in and becoming acclimated with the personal training fitness career path.
Construction Training Partnering with local construction trade experts, the Crusaders organization is able to help interested members in the community obtain various construction certifications.
Referee & Coaching Training With expert referee and coaching training partners, our members can obtain certification and training.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES/FOOTBALL PROGRAMMING
The Crusaders organization sports activities include providing a platform for athletes to display their abilities through the game of football. As the founding program for the organization, the football activities has served as a platform for our mentors to teach skills training, leadership development, and teamwork for the athletes that are between the ages of 18 and 35. By serving a large demographic, the Crusaders are able to reach a vast amount of young men, affecting an even broader family base. In addition to the general football activities, Crusader athletes are engaged in their community through back to school events, park clean-ups, homeless shelter assistance and other community-based functions. The sport of football has served as a college conduit for our athletes by granting access to universities and colleges throughout the country that these young men would otherwise not have access to.

By partnering with NCAA Division I and II colleges and universities that provide football programs for student-athletes, we have established direct pipelines to the administration and coaching staffs for our members. Scholarship financing is vigorously sought after to ensure our members are able to enroll on campus and participate at the intercollegiate level, while mitigating subsequent financial encumbrances upon graduations.
For the 2017-2018 school years, three (3) Crusader members successfully enrolled in Livingstone College, North Carolina (CIAA - Division II) to study full-time and play “D2” college football, receiving approx. $35K in athletic scholarship funding for the school yea

COMMUNITY FITNESS PROGRAMMING
Our Community Fitness Programing seeks to engage the community in health and fitness. Serving all ages and genders, these free to the public programs include bootcamps, youth sports days, senior citizen activities and fitness dance sessions.
We have established health programs that are a collective of “stay in shape” workshops and workouts, emphasizing general health and fitness (both physical & mental), including: Crusaders Summer Boot Camp Brooklyn, NY: Open field physical training sessions for the community-at-large (30-50 participants at each weekly session), which provides drills, guest physical instructors and nutritionists to lecture about positive health outcomes. The Crusaders have formed local partnerships with various community-based organizations to create an even further reach throughout New York City. The Crusaders aspire to teach more low- and moderate-income New York youth and adults the value of healthy eating and exercise. The yearly goal is to serve 100-plus participants, both adult and youth in our healthy boot-camps throughout each calendar year |
